Daniel H. Pink Book Covers

Concept - Daniel Pink is the author of self help/business books. The original covers were nice for what they are however they all looked like they had been written by different authors. The goal of this project was to redesign the covers of five of his books so they resembled a cohesive set.
Target Audience - The audience that I was going for with this project was anyone that browses bookstore shelves looking for something that will pop out to them.
Role in Project - I had to come up with a whole new direction for these book covers. I ended up completely going outside the box and chose to create a unique collage for each book cover. I then chose a modern layout for the front and back cover that showcases the collage.
Skills - For this project I had to showcase skills involving outside of the box thinking, hands-on creation and then transforming it into a digital product, as well as creating a cohesive theme including colors, fonts and layout.
Challenges + Successes - This project was challenging for me because I don't often find myself in the self help/business side of a bookstore. I tend to be drawn towards the bright and creative book covers. I chose to lean into that, as I believe that others are also drawn to those as well. However, these covers may not look like their subjects. My creative direction is still something that I am very proud of. I took a risk creating collages to try and showcase the themes of the books, I think I did a decent job.
